Hi there.

I come from New Hampshire, U.S. I'm sort of near Boston, but not that close. Just close enough to have the accent.

I'm currently in a community college right now, but am going to transfer to a 4-year college and major in computer science.

I used to run a Minecraft server called Daexsys, but those are bygone days. Now I'm working on my own multiplayer game. :flirty:

Hey, look, we finally have this feature! Been wanting it for a while. :lmao:
What is Megaton? It's a new game, (an attempt at an MMO, specifically) that I've been working on for roughly a month. It's bullet-hell / 2D third-person-shooter inspired. And the login/auth system is completely up, so anyone can go register over there at:

dxvpn.phaeton.co/.

Thanks HamburgerHelperPlz for the doman.

We're still working out a lot of the kinks. As usual, Java is required. The game is still in early alpha so... expect bugs. ;l
Am I cool yet? 8-) (Cool)
'Tis a momentous day. Or rather, yesterday was.

It is now possible to spawn a single-player server (similar to Source engine and Minecraft), which can also accept connections from stand-alone clients, or create a dedicated server process.

There are packets for entity spawning (server -> client), entity movement (server -> client + client -> server), entity rotation (unparsed currently), and entity destruction (server -> client). Entities are assigned IDs serverside, and are sent alongside this ID to the clients.

The entity spawn packet includes parameters for the x and y coordinates of the spawned object as well as its width, height, and a 'special' string, which can contain metadata for the object such as its color, or its asset image in the case of ImageComponents. In the future it may possible to load entire JSON object literals into the special value to send more complex objects to the clients.

I tried to make the system extremely abstracted, and will most likely abstract it further beyond 2D RenderComponents because I want to use this in future 3D projects as well.

To that end, I'm thinking of detatching the Entity Logic / Networking aspects of Ijen away from the Java2D rendering aspects. I'm not sure which one will keep the name Ijen. Maybe both will.
Look at the amount of days left in my premium membership, provided it hasn't expired yet.

Look at it.

-0

It's back. The zombie of the worst, most illogical number in history. A number so fucking unholy that it only shows up in computers and weird calculus.

Just based on the fact that the number has even reached -0 rather than -1, we can probably assume that it is storing the time left in a value lower than days, most likely milliseconds based of the standard Unix epoch. It appears to switch from 0 to -0 the day that the premium membership will expire even if there is still time remaining left, which should make it stay 0.

I have no idea.
